Like a lot of things in life, the behind the scenes can be a little different to the highlight reel. It was great to speak about my business journey today at the City of Marion Women in Business showcase lunch. It was (and still is) like another language sometimes with a lot of challenges, growth, celebration and learning along the way.
Great take aways from Judy and Kristi from their path to now with the importance of having mentors, backing yourself, reinventing, giving things a go and coming back to your purpose and values.
Being in business is a rollercoaster and it is refreshing to realise you are not the only one experiencing some of the trials, worry, planning, never switching off, excitement and incredible ride that it is.
I am looking forward to have more conversations and creating a community of small and family business owners who have a safe space to connect, talk about the realities, look after their own mental health (often the last on the list) and exploring ways to support their team. Next week we are doing mental health and wellbeing masterclasses in Penola and Mt Gambier with Marion workshops starting at the end of the month.
