Ignite Life this week is about taking the opportunity to embrace the Adelaide Fringe/Festival as there is so much on offer and the benefits are huge. In fact, I almost don’t know where to start!
In the past 10 days I have been lucky enough to see a number of different acts – it has been brilliant and doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. In the Croquet Club and Garden of Unearthly Delights I have seen a few five dollar shows. You don’t really know what you are about to see but ‘what the heck’ it’s only a few dollars to part with, can be quite spontaneous and sort of exciting entering into the unknown. I love that we all pack into a tiny tent, the artist appears and you are so close up to the action. I have seen numerous things being balanced (including humans) some quirky humor and crowd participation. I love the fact for fifteen minutes the outside world doesn’t exist. It’s just you and a few others being immersed in something that is intriguing, hilarious and fun. I have not been disappointed. The great thing is that most of the acts have larger shows so you can become a fan and get more enjoyment out of their gifts.
On Friday and Saturday night I also went to more brilliant comedy acts. I will talk more about them during the week but it struck me how much the comedian is gifting their audience with loads of enjoyment and laughter. In both shows there was participation from the crowd – yours truly was also pinpointed – scary but true! The sound of the crowd laughing so hard is brilliant and it is awesome for the soul. There have been so many studies on laughter and how it is good for you physically, emotionally and spiritually.
So this week it would be brilliant if we could remember to see the funny side of things and have a good old fashioned laugh. If you are in Adelaide, make it your business to get along to a comedy act while there are so many in town. If you see something that has really made you have a big belly laugh and has bought you joy please let us all know by sharing it here so we can check it out.
So here’s to a week of seeing the funny side of things and bringing laughter into our lives
