Seemingly inconsequential things

Dec 21, 2025 | Blog, Here's the thing

Over the past week, I’ve found myself deliberately choosing to notice kindness.

Not the big, showy, insta-worthy gestures but the small, seemingly inconsequential things that can circumvent and reframe the less-than-attractive aspects of human-ing (of which there have been plenty of examples of this week).

Whether it’s choosing a different way to react to moments of frustration, gently reminding people that you’re a human as well as the role you play (leader, helper, family member),seeing glimmers of goodness in a crisis, or finding ways to make it through if you’re not feeling the cheeriness of the festive season.

How can you honour what the human inside you needs during this time of year?

Is it…

  • Space
  • Connection
  • Amplifying kindness
  • Seeing the human in others
  • Looking forward with hope
  • A thank you to shift frustration
  • A clear “no” without justification
  • Removing yourself from conversations that escalate or don’t serve you

Whatever it is you need, be kind to yourself.

I look forward to spending time with you in the new year.
