To some these are a few bottles of paint but when I look at the marks on the container I know the experience is so much more.
They are significant prints of the messy, release, flow, going beyond words, letting the inside build up out safely, bringing movement to what is stuck, being in the moment and letting some colour, flow and play in for a while.
Often there is an expectation that thinking and words are the way to find meaning, assist people and explore life, this process was deliberately designed to be out of the cognitive so that they could express when particpants find themselves in a constrained environment.
It was powerful to see the engagement, exploration and expression in action – the foundation of everything that I do, whether it be workshopping, training, consulting, speaking or facilitation.
I also loved that the staff participated together and commented that they need more of this too.
Thanks to Melanie Tate, FGLF, Bailey, and the Adelaie Women’s Prison team for embracing this session as part of Puddle Jumpers EmpowerHer program, it is always great to collaborate in such meaningful work
“wow what a session… you could feel the impact in the room”
