“A Christmas party staff didn’t want to go isn’t a diary problem — it’s a cultural warning shot” Love these thoughts from Dave Barnes and know that there are many different ways that a team culture presents itself. See the full post here Facebook.
There are many layers to organisations and the way that your people engage, feel valued and connect reflects something beyond role, personalities and whether someone attends the social function or not.
Team culture is a complex balancing act and something that like all great relationships takes time, commitment, communication and care. (especially once the honeymoon period is over)
As we wrap up 2025, I want to ask you
How has it really been?
The good bits, the tough patches, and the “let’s just not talk about that again” moments all tell a story and have some insights that are worth considering.
It’s important to make space for reflection – not to judge it, not to fix everything, just to notice what the year brought and reflect on the experiences as you come out the other side.
I have opened up some spaces for 1:1’s, team and small group sessions to explore and create personal revival as well as exploring what needs to be considered for having an environment where people feel part of something special.
I get a sense of extreme exhaustion and capacity bursting at the seems so I think more than ever we need that moment to breathe, and an opportunity to look forward with a bit of hope, a bit of curiousity, and maybe even a bit of excitement.
A gentle reset before the next chapter begins.
It’s more than people not wanting to go
