I need a rest after this!

While the peopling cup is well and truly overflowing and I will need a little alone time to reset this week, I had an incredible weekend of celebrating people who are stepping into empowerment, connection, vulnerability and truth.

The genuine applause and hearfelt cheers for Hannah Gadsby as they walked on stage was something to absorb. As was the authentic hilarious storytelling and observations of the world. Their emotion around the challenges of  success and change as well as appreciation for support was felt deeply and I sat there with awe and compassion in their human experiencing.

As was the opening of Flock 50 at Chapel Hill wines for SALA. Grier Neilson photographed fifty women in their fifties to change the narrative that for Grier this was more than photography, it is personal and she sees the human and wants them to ‘see who they are, feel who they are and tell their story’ . Congrats Grier for holding space for connection, community, vulnerability and empowering women to see themselves as human.

Yesterday it was the launch of The Oyster Sisters where Taryn Brumfitt, Mia Handshin and Dr Gemma Munro spoke about the need for connection and knowing that perfectionism is an illusion. That we all experience grit and its time to stop pleasing, performing, perfecting conforming, comparing and competing – there are new ways to rise.

So all in all a pretty wonderful weekend where the real is being revealed, connection and celebration at the forefront. My heart is full of curiosity, appreciation and relief that we are having these conversations that humaning is the full spectrum of experiences not the highlight reel.
