Each morning, I stop at my local cafe for a coffee. Over the past few months, I’ve started chatting with another customer who, it turns out, is deeply musical.
We’ve started the tradition of having a song of the day.
Usually it’s an 80’s or 90’s banger. You know the kind of ditty that makes you feel like you’re reliving your youth and hauls you back to a long-held fantasy of being a back-up singer in a band (but maybe that’s just me?!).
This week, one of the songs of the day took me by surprise. A complete backflip from backup singers and grimy pub dance floors of the 90s, it profoundly hit me. Like reaching inside, goosebumps kind of hit me.
I’d love you to close your eyes and take a listen . Please share with me where it takes you (even if it’s not your cup of tea).
What’s your sense of it? How does it sit with you? Where does it take you?
The true beauty of art is capturing a moment in time, how it speaks to each of us and the connection that happens while sharing.
May you have a week of being well.
