A different way to plan

Dec 1, 2025 | Blog

Often you can get stuck in the traditional fill in the boxes that meet the KPI’s, match the strategic plan and think your way through, after all its another thing to do when you are already tired and counting down the days until you can have a break. This method certainly ticks a lot of the boxes.

But what if your cognition couldn’t access something that is waiting to be discovered or bring valuable insights into the frustrations, what takes/gives you energy, and what no longer serves and needs to be shifted.

It is difficult to think your way through moving forward, imagining an environment and life that is what you really want rather than have the same same.

The creative inquiry process not only holds up a mirror, the felt sense, symbolism and metaphor assists to:
 – look through curious eyes
 – the content is held safely to explore fully
 – be in the moment and put the ‘shoulds’ on hold for a while
 – space to see what is possible without being too structured or black and white thinking.
 – activates the whole brain to improve insight and see opportunities
 – makes the invisible visible
 – assists to reflect, connect and engage with the content in an embodied way
the list goes on

I am opening a few spots for December and January If you would like to do your own planning sessions in this way, and would love to support you and/or your team to explore, plan and connect to what you want out of 2026.

Below is a video of me doing a planning process a little while ago to look at the path ahead – each colour, texture, movement, shift, next part of the page, strokes in combination with some thinking, inner wisdom and accessing my knowing bought some confidence, shifting focus and clarity around the next steps. NB not all creative inquiry processes are this large or use paint – it was a nice day so being outside, and going big was the order of the day this time.
